I'm sure someone on the forum has had this and said it was very beneficial. Maybe Amanda - or Stewart?

Hi
I have heard of this before- again it tends to help people who RESPOND to acupuncture which in arthritis tends to be osteo related.
http://www.naturalhealth....com/bee-venom-therapy/
but as for me, there seems to be no clinical evidence that this 1) works or 2) is safely controlled with safe checked practitioners.
http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih....rtPanel.Pubmed_RVDocSum
"In conclusion, penetrating or non-penetrating sham-controlled RCTs failed to show specific effects of acupuncture for pain control in patients with RA"
Plus I can only find ref to pain control and not disease control, which with RA you need.

Dear Lizzie,
It's me! I have had three bee venom jabs into both knees...I had them done at the Royal Homeopathic Hospital in London.
They are just the remedy Apis. I also took it orally for a long while.
It did relieve inflammation twice but it is very temporary and really not good enough to pay £60 a visit and all the stress of going into London for the day etc.
I weighed it up and decided to stick with my herbs although I still use many homeopathic remedies here, especially for the children....
By the way, it doesn't hurt at all, they only stab the skin!
Love,
Amanda

Ooo Amanda you are BRAVE!! It did sound quite drastic...even though I love bees - just because they are such amazing creatures.. but they DO hurt when they sting! I just had a surreal image of having to go into a room with the bees and then wait til they stung you, then you could go home!
All this has reminded me i had some Propolis in the cupboard - Now i think i remember... this is a compound made by trees and then used by bees - is that right Amanda? A friend bought it for me, just need to add few drops to half a cup of warm water and drink or gargle - i've just had some now as feeling a bit "coldy" with sore throat back again - now not sure if its psychological or not but my throat seems as if starting to feel a little better already...
Word of advice to anyone reading i do think medical advice is to avoid using propolis if you have any kind of bee allergy,
But if it works for me i think i will keep swigging it every now and then - so - Big up the BEES!!!

Yes, that is right, Liz! Here is a site you might enjoy;http://www.thehoneydoctor.com/index.html
The actual remedy is Apis and you can just buy it and take it in pill form...
Have fun!
Love,
Amanda

Regarding bee sting therapy can we please remember that the bee dies a horrible death as when it stings a human it's guts are quite literally pulled out.
My Grandad dunked his hands in the cold raintub every morning, then grabbed a handful of nettles and used them as you would a bar of soap. He swore by this remedy. I've not tried it as I'm too much a wimp but I prefer this to harming our precious bees.

[size=7]Nettles are one of my fav! Love them and take them every day and thankfully have copious amounts of them in my garden for people to come and whip themselves with! LOL Liz? Jean? Lylie?
Apis is excellent though for bee stings./size]
